Bella Victoria Caballero

Bella Victoria was born on August, 2004 in Arizona to Elisa Reyes and Mario Caballero. Elisa had a normal pregnancy and delivered naturally at the scheduled nine months. Bella developed normally reaching all of her milestones with ease. At one year old she had crawled, standed without help and walked. She was already saying her first words and she like to dance.

On November 22, 2005, when Bella was 16 months old, an unimaginable misfortune fell upon them. Her mother was at work and she was staying home with her babysitter and grandmother. Her father was working with some workers at their home garage. In a split of a second Bella walked away from her babysitter, walked through the garage door manage to pass her father and the other men working in it without being seen and entered their yard. At the yard she fell in the pool. She didn't know how to swim and started to drown. By the time her grandmother and one of the workers spotted her and pull her out, Bella was purple from the waist up and foam was coming out of her mouth. The paramedics of the firestation that came at the call of 911 resuscitated her and took her in a coma to the Children Hospital. The doctors told Elisa and Mario that Bella would not make it pass the night.

However, Bella survived the night and after one week of coma she started to react a little. When she waked up she would cry without end. Her brain had been damage and did'nt know how to act. After that, Bella has been through various hospitals, testings and therapies with little results. They took her to Mexico to have craniosacral therapy and afterwards they learned about Intensive Pediatric Therapy in conjuction with the THERASUIT at Therapies 4 Kids and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Ocean Neurologic Center. They decided to bring her and provide her with both therapies. After Bella intensive therapies, her parents reported that Bella was more relaxed, centered and was starting to recognize them. For them all these changes are immense and they are looking forward to go back to Florida to provide her again with these much needed therapies.
