My name is Miranda Bennett and I am writing you on behalf of my son, Xhadrian Jeremiah Rogers. I am a single parent and I gave birth to Xhadrian during my first official year into adulthood: 21! Xhadrian was born April 28, 2004. I remember that day like it was just yesterday.

 

During my pregnancy, my obstetrician had concerns about Xhadrian\'s head circumference, it was smaller than normal for his gestational age. At the time, she along with her advisor was convinced that this was nothing to be concerned about just yet.

When Xhadrian was born, they conducted further testing and diagnosed him with a medical condition called Schizencephaly. His neurologist at the time, Dr. Yong Park in Augusta, Georgia advised us at that this condition could lead to severe developmental delays and epilepsy. Both have a strong presence in Xhadrian\'s life currently.

 

My mother found out about your organization, Therapies for Kids, from one of her co-workers. I have read the stories of the children you\'ve helped. My faith has been restored and I am certain that with God\'s help, you all can perform a miracle for my son. Xhadrian will be 6 soon and he has yet to ever sit up unassisted, crawl, roll over, walk, talk, or do any other self sufficient activity of daily living.

 

I love my son very much, which is why I have begun this adamant search in getting him the help he needs and deserves to be to enjoy life like any other child. Your services are amazing however, they do come with a price that I, as a single parent, am unable to afford. At just the tender age of 27, I work full time, go to school full time, and I care for my son and father who both live with me and physical/mental disabilities. It is my prayer that you will find it in your heart to help me and my son. You all have already blessed so many families, I can only aspire to be in that number.
