Our daughter, Chloe  was born at 31 weeks gestation, 3lbs. 10 oz.,  via emergency c-section.  She was in a breech position so there was some struggle to get her out.  She was floppy and depressed at birth, and was intubated for the first 48 hours of her life.

As she was in the NICU, the neonatologists were performing routine weekly head ultrasounds and saw a change from week one to week two.  On the third ultrasound, the neonatologist confirmed that she had PVL, the leading cause of cerebral palsy among preemies, probably from some kind of oxygen deprivation.  When Chloe was only 6 months old we began speech, occupational, and physical therapies.  As she continued not meeting milestones we had a brain MRI performed, that concluded the PVL in her brain.  Chloe was officially diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 2 years old,  seizures/epilepsy at the age of 3, and now at 4 years old she is also having asthma related issues.

To ambulate, Chloe either crawls (bunny hops) or uses her walker with AFO  braces.  She has been compromised in many different areas of her development, and to improve, her entire medical team recommends intensive physical therapy to help her with her gross motor skills/balance/walking.  However it is very costly and we do not have the resources to pay for this necessary treatment.  If anyone would be so kind as to donate any amount towards Chloe’s rehabilitation, we would be forever grateful.  And with your generosity Chloe might be able to achieve the independence that every child deserves and also be able to chase her big sister Madison around.  We hope that Chloe knows that her family is trying to make her future a brighter one.
