Happy New Year from Bright Steps Forward!

Bright Steps Forward kicked off the new year with our Inaugural Butterfly Release and Picnic at CB Smith Park last Sunday and celebrated the new year with our students, families and friends. Thank you to all who donated butterflies and a special thank you to our sponsor, Lewis & Palmer Benefits who made this fun-filled event possible!

The chilly day began with a strong wind, but thankfully, the brilliant sun warmed all who attended. There was so much for everyone to do: face painting, balloon art, eat cotton candy, feast on hot dogs and hamburgers, games, dancing – but the biggest hit by far was the wonderful petting zoo.

And as the wind died down and the sun warmed the earth, we all made our way to the south side of the pavilion for the release of the butterflies.
112 butterflies were released into the beautiful sky amid cheers from all. Young and old were unified in our pledge to help our wonderful special needs children transcend limitations through the gift of therapy and education.
